Pepsi pulls ad starring Kendall Jenner after social media backlash
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Pepsi has pulled its new advert after being accused of using the #BlackLivesMatter movement to sell drinks. Do you agree?
In the ad, reality star Kendall Jenner gives a can of the drink to a police officer to ease tensions during a protest.
The firm says it was "trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding" but admits it clearly "missed the mark".
Twitter's reaction towards the advert was rather heated:
#PepsiKendall #PepsiLivesMatter This disrespectful to the lives that was lost because of racism & police brutality ! RT #PepsiDontMatter pic.twitter.com/71ysXWeCa3
