President Barack Obama and Kendrick Lamar met at the White House to discuss the importance of mentor-ship.
The rapper posted a video about the meeting on Vimeo, discussing the
importance of young children having a mentor as they grow up.
"I sat down with President Barack Obama and shared the same views," Lamar says. "Topics concerning the inner cities, the problem the solutions and furthermore embracing the youth, both being aware that mentoring saves lives."
Lamar also shared that he doesn't know know where he would be if he hadn't had a mentor "telling me what's right and what's wrong" when he was a kid.
In December, Obama shared that his favorite song of the year was Lamar's "How Much a Dollar Cost," an emotional track off the critically acclaimed album To Pimp a Butterfly.
