There is a new challenge that require teenagers take a video of themselves while they eat detergent pods and post it online.

Recent challenges like the Ice Bucket Challenge and Mannequin Challenge have gone viral as people act them out and then nominate influencers, bloggers, friends, and loved ones to go about the challenge.

Well, you're not going to believe what teens have come up with now?!
Say hello to the 'Tide Pod' challenge.
In South African terms, the latest Internet fad sees people eat detergent and put up videos of them doing it.
Whilst there has become great hype around the Tide Pod challenge the US Consumer Product Safety Commission deemed it unsafe stating that the chemicals in the detergents can cause breathing problems, blood pressure changes, gastrointestinal problems and loss of consciousness. The corrosive ingredients present in it can even damage the esophagus.
As much as we love trends, we may just step away from this one.
