Do you remember the chilling case of Gabby Petito? The vibrant 22-year-old set off on a cross-country adventure with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie – only to mysteriously vanish, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and national intrigue.

Now, Netflix is pulling back the curtain on one of the most haunting true-crime cases of our time.

'American Murder: Gabby Petito' is a gripping three-part docuseries that unravels the shocking truth behind Petito’s disappearance and ultimate fate.

With exclusive interviews, never-before-seen footage, and firsthand accounts, this series doesn’t just tell the story, it puts you right in the centre of it all.

Petito and Laundrie seemed like the perfect young couple chasing adventure. They bought a van, packed their bags, and set off on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip; one they planned to share with the world through Petito’s dream YouTube channel, 'Van Life'.

But behind the curated Instagram posts and smiling videos was a far darker reality.

The couple’s journey was supposed to be about freedom, love, and adventure. Instead, it became a series of tense moments, eerie interactions, and growing hostility.

The documentary reveals never-before-seen footage, awkward silences, forced smiles, and the unsettling dynamic between Petito and Laundrie. He played the role of a devoted partner, but those closest to Petito knew something wasn’t right.

Then came August 12, 2021 – the moment everything began to unravel. Police bodycam footage shows a distraught Petito sobbing as officers question her and Laundrie after a bystander reports a violent dispute. The officers let them go, unaware that this would be one of Petito’s final cries for help.

On August 27, 2021, Petito was last seen alive on CCTV footage at a Whole Foods. After that, there was radio silence. Her social media stopped. Her family’s texts went unanswered.

And Laundrie? He returned home. Alone. Without her.

Days later, her disappearance made national headlines. The entire country followed as investigators pieced together the puzzle, tracking Laundrie’s every move.

Then the horrifying discovery – Petito’s remains, abandoned in the wilderness.

What really happened in those final days? What secrets did Laundrie (who also died in 2021) take to his grave? And how did social media play a pivotal role in solving this case?

'American Murder: Gabby Petito' doesn’t just tell the story, it exposes the truth and shines a light on the warning signs, the failures, and the chilling reality of domestic violence.

Check out ‘American Murder: Gabby Petito’ now on Netflix. Sometimes, the most terrifying stories aren’t fiction.
