In a bizarre turn of events, a remote village in the heart of Peru has been gripped by a series of encounters involving what locals initially described as 'flying aliens'.
However, the truth behind these incidents has finally come to light.
It was later revealed to be a cunning ploy by illegal miners who have taken to the skies with the aid of jetpacks.
The revelation shed light on the lengths to which some will go to exploit valuable resources and the challenges authorities face in safeguarding the environment and the well-being of local communities.
According to Vice, Peru locals say the attacks had begun way back on 11 July.
The village, which had always enjoyed a tranquil existence, was thrust into the global spotlight as reports of strange figures gliding above the treetops surfaced.

Descriptions ranged from weird-looking beings with otherworldly attire to fearsome, unidentified creatures.
The situation became so intense that the village was dubbed 'Ground Zero of Extraterrestrial Activity' by sensationalist media outlets.
I enhanced one of the Peru videos, the one where they shine a flashlight on one of the alleged creatures and say "There it is!" I don't know what we are seeing here. Is it a being or just tree branches?? You decide.#ufotwitter #UAP #Aliens pic.twitter.com/9hyhQtd9Px
