A mother's letter after her down syndrome son was excluded from a party
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
This touching letter will melt your heart and move you to tears.
Sawyer, who is eight years old, happens to have down syndrome, and his mother, Jennifer Kiss-Engele, found out that her son was the only child who was not invited to one of his fellow pupil's birthday party.
Not that Jennifer is expecting every parent to invite every child in class, but it hurt her when she found out that her child was the only one who was excluded.
She wrote a letter on Facebook explaining why she was so upset saying"the only reason why you decided it was OK to not invite my son to your
child’s birthday party is because he has Down Syndrome, I am sorry that you are not informed, maybe scared, or uncertain about what it means to have Down Syndrome."
Take a read:
Before she posted the letter on Facebook, she sent it directly to the mom hosting the birthday party first. Not only did the mom invite Swayer, but sent him a special birthday invite.
