According to Express UK, "a monstrous asteroid heading dangerously close to Earth has caused panic on social media after fears of a potential collision in 2029."
The news surfaced on Monday, 26 August. Express UK says JPL astronomer Davide Farnocchia said in a blog post, “It is possible that there will be some surface changes, like small avalanches.”
Twitter seemed to have a meltdown about the news. They began asking questions about what do they do now and how do they handle it.

Question: If we were to nuke the poles of mars like you suggest, how long would it take it to turn into an earth-like planet?

The gargantuan space rock hurtling towards earth is bigger than the Eiffel Tower and is named Apophis, after the Egyptian “God of Chaos”. It is on track to skim dangerously close to the earth, about 19,000 miles (31,000 km) above the Earth’s surface.
NASA said: “Current calculations show that Apophis still has a small chance of impacting Earth, less than 1 in 100,000 many decades from now.”
