Is Miss SA's dress for Miss World representative of Mzansi?
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
Celebrities have shaded Miss SA's dress that's meant to represent South Africa. Do you agree with them?
Miss SA, Ntando Kunene, is getting ready to represent South Africa at the Miss World beauty pageant, but many do not agree with the dress she'll be wearing to represent the country.
Designed by the highly-regarded JJ Schoeman, the dress is said to be inspired by the beauty queen's birthplace, Mpumalanga, but Twitter doesn't seem to agree.
A work of art! @MIssKunene's dress was designed by the talented @JJSchoeman. pic.twitter.com/8OG6Qp1cde

Reality star Lexi van Niekerk also took shots at the dress
No it doesn't! This is just an orange, flowing dress. Not South African. More like a sunrise/sunset 👎 https://t.co/rMvYGXz9OD

Actress Florence Masebe was unimpressed
JJ Schoeman took an orange sack and threw it over Ntando Kunene and the #MissSA people say it's a work of art. Ba re ke traditional dress.

Do you think the dress is representative of South Africa, and in particular Mpumalanga's direct translation of 'the place of the rising sun'?
