Men ordered to pay hefty fine for dumping expired Cheetos
That's not nice! A charity store in Australia found 40 boxes of expired Cheetos Puff snacks dumped outside their door.
Two men are paying the price for their callous behaviour after being fined AU$17,000 (R206,000) for unlawfully dumping expired products outside a Salvation Army store in Sydney, Australia.
The duo reportedly dumped 40 boxes of expired Cheetos Puffs at the charity store earlier this year. CCTV Footage capture them offloading the boxes from their white van in February. According to 9News, they were fined $2,000.
However, the brazen driver returned to the crime scene again in May with a different man to discard more expired goods.
This time, they dumped yoghurt dips, which reportedly expired in 2022. The yoghurt, which was packed in 60 boxes, earned an even bigger fine.
The local council hit them with a $15,000 fine.
Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek is shocked by the men's behaviour.
"I cannot believe someone would stoop so low, to donate out-of-date goods to a charity trying to assist those in need," he told 9News.
Hopefully, the illegal dumpers have learned their lesson - especially when it involves dumping expired goods outside a charity store!
