Meet the smoking elephant gripping the internet
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
It's a known fact that smoking is not good for your health, but what about animals?
After the death of the last Northern White Rhino, Sudan, many people are concerned about the safety of other wild animals. Amid all the chaos, a video of an elephant 'smoking' in the jungle has gone viral on Facebook.
Take a look at this video of an elephant actually smoking:
Okay, before everyone starts freaking out, it is not how it looks. According to reports, the elephant was trying to ingest wood charcoal. He picked up something burnt from the forest floor and started blowing away the ash, thus looking like the elephant was 'puffing and passing'.
Charcoal may not have any nutritional value, but it is believed that wild animals often get attracted due to its medicinal properties, as it serves as a laxative.
