The Dusi Canoe Marathon between PMB and Durban concluded on Saturday morning when Men's winners Andy Birkett and Matthew Fenn, and Women’s winners Abby Solms and Jessica Behn crossed the finish line.

On the third and concluding day of the Dusi Canoe Marathon, commencing from Inanda Dam to Blue Lagoon in Durban, Andy Birkett and Matthew Fenn emerged victorious.
Holding an overnight lead of over four minutes, Birkett and Fenn showcased remarkable prowess as they secured the win. This marks Andy Birkett's 14th Dusi triumph, bringing him closer to matching Dusi king Graeme Pope-Ellis' record of 15 victories.
Abby Solms and Jessica Behn
Abby Solms and Jessica Behn fulfilled expectations on Saturday as the women's champions, smoothly clinched the title in the 2024 Dusi Canoe Marathon campaign in Durban on 17th February 2024.
This marks Abby Solms' fourth victory, establishing her as one of the most accomplished Women's Dusi paddlers in the race's history. Her strategic decision to team up with a matric schoolgirl proved to be highly successful.
Jessica Behn, a student at Epworth School in Pietermaritzburg, is thought to be the youngest winner in the race's history and appears to have a promising future in the sport.

The pair only decided to team up in mid-December and the outcome has left paddle enthusiasts in awe.
This is a clear example of a stellar sporting performance by an experienced paddler combined with youthful exuberance.
