Matthew McConaughey to follow in Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps?

Matthew McConaughey has played many roles in his life.

From astronauts to businessmen, he has pretty much done it all!

The only thing is: these have all only ever been imaginary or pretend characters that he has portrayed in films.

Most of these characters do not represent him as a person and sometimes his actual personality is completely the opposite of the one he is trying to convey on screen.

And that is what makes him such an exceptionally talented actor.

Now he wants to take on one of the biggest roles of his entire life.

We also need to be clear: this isn't actually a movie or television role, but a real-life career path that he has chosen, possibly leaving acting behind forever!

He has previously mentioned in various interviews that he has dabbled with the idea of different careers.

In a recent podcast episode of 'The Balanced Voice', he went into more detail about what the next chapter of his life could contain and what he actually wants.

He is considering running for Governor of Texas, although he has stated that at the end of the day, it is up to the people, but he is very serious about these plans.

This also isn't the first time he has mentioned political aspirations, so it shouldn't really come as a big surprise.

At the end of the day: if the 'Terminator' could be the governor of California for eight years, then Matthew couldn't be that much worse... right?
