Man rescued twice after climbing mountain for his phone
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast / Skyye Ndlovu
A brave man climbed a mountain twice and got rescued twice – all for his phone!

Some people don’t know when to quit or leave a lost phone behind.
A 27-year-old university student in Japan managed to get himself rescued twice in just four days after attempting to climb Mount Fuji outside of the official climbing season.
The Chinese student, who clearly values his phone more than his own limbs, first got stuck after losing his crampons (those spiky things that help you walk on ice) and had to be airlifted to safety.
It gets better, though.
A few days later, the guy went back up the mountain to fetch the stuff he left behind, including his phone.
Unsurprisingly, this brilliant plan ended with him suffering from altitude sickness and needing to be rescued… again.
Authorities weren’t impressed. Climbing Mount Fuji outside of the official season (July to September) is a big no-no because of dangerous weather, closed trails, and no medical help.
After his double rescue, police politely reminded everyone: Don’t do dumb things on dangerous mountains.
Online, people weren’t as polite, though. Many are saying he should foot the bill for both helicopter rides.
Reasonable. Climbing a mountain off-season is one thing, but going back for a phone?
That man’s search history must be wild.
Probably something like "dumb ways to die".
Moral of the story? If you drop your phone on a mountain in winter… maybe just let it go, bro.
Unless you want to make international news headlines.
