Man overhears friends lie to a girl, finds her on TikTok and they become BFFs
This is the ultimate tale of true friendship.
One of the most important lessons a person can learn is to rather say nothing if you don’t have anything nice to say. For one group of friends, they learned this the hard way after a man overheard them talking about a decision to wait until a friend of theirs was out of town before hosting their birthday party.
In the clip, a man named Andrew, who goes by the handle
@drewbdoobdoo on TikTok, walked past a group of friends and heard them talking
about purposely throwing a party on a date that their friend Marissa couldn’t make.

“I hate to be the one to stick my nose where it doesn’t belong, but if your name is Marissa, listen up,” Drew says in the clip. “I just walked by your friends and I need to tell you that the weekend you’re away is not the only time that they could do their birthday party.”

He adds: “They are choosing to do it the weekend that you’re away and you need to know.” He then called on fellow TikTok users to help him find Marissa.
As luck would have it, the video did make its way to Marissa who also took to the app to share her response. “In the last two hours, I have had over 25-30 people send it to me, people that I haven’t even spoken to since high school and I literally went out of town this weekend on a road trip with some of my friends and one of my friends had a birthday party this weekend and she knew that I was going out of town and wouldn’t reschedule it. Now I am looking to get his attention because if you saw these people in my neighbourhood, I am going to need new friends.”

Marissa and Andrew eventually connected with each other in New York and quickly struck up a friendship. The two even created an hilarious video to ‘Everlasting Love’ around Central Park.

In another update, Marissa explains that one friend from the group told her that they did not want to invite her to the party because “when they invite people over, because I am very outgoing, they wanted the focus to be on them.”

Marissa has been flooded with messages of positivity from people from around the world asking her to be their friend and telling her that she deserves better than the group she has.
