LISTEN: KZN continues to have sewage problems

This is far from ideal for one of South Africa's major tourist spots.

KwaZulu-Natal is worried as there still seems to be an issue with water pollution. 

There’s a one-minute video doing the rounds on WhatsApp of motorcycle riders filming the situation at what is alleged to be the Umhlanga water treatment facility.

In the background, you can hear the sound of what is believed to be raw sewage spewing out like a water fountain. 

The facility looks abandoned and in very bad shape.

This comes after a video went viral of blackened water gushing out from below one of the piers in Durban.

It prompted concern that it might be sewage.

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen says his party intends to institute legal action against the eThekwini Metro.

 This would be for the alleged violation of human rights and environmental laws.

There has been an alleged failure from the metro to fix several sewage treatment plants in KZN.

Mariaan Sloan is a local resident of Westville and she has a river of sewage running through her back garden.
