As we kick off the start of the 2024 school year, this is a first for many: The first day of school ever, the first day of high school or even the first day teaching.
In an effort to try offer some assistance, East Coast Breakfast reached out to the young students of KwaZulu-Natal to offer some guidance for their fellow scholars.

Here are the top five pieces of advices as shared by the young ones of our province:
- Make sure you’re wearing your school uniform when you leave the house. You don’t want to forget anything.
- Be kind always, it will get you a long way.
- Don’t forget to do your homework and get into a good habit of that.
- If you’re confused, don’t be afraid to ask.
- Make new friends by joining extra murals and having the courage to go up to people on the first day.
