LISTEN: 'As bikers, we need to protect and educate our community'

Something very special is happening on Tuesday and these bikers will tell us all about it...
Keri Miller had the pleasure to speak to biker club members from Hell's Angels, East Coast Motorcycle and the Iron Feathers on Monday 8 August.
The conversation was mostly around a great initiative the bikers club are planning on Women's Day on Tuesday, 9 August.

Heather, from the Iron Feathers Club, Justin, who's from Hell's Angels Durban, and Pravesh, who is part of the East Coast Motorcycle club, sat down with Keri to chat about how great it is being part of a bike club in Durban.

On Tuesday, the 9th of August, when it's Women's Day in South Africa, right here in Durban something special will be happening on the day.
The biker clubs around the city/province have come together to join the Hells Angels Durban in their Winter Run to support awareness against gender-based violence.

There are various starting points that people can come and make their donations.
The final destination will be Pick n Pay Hyper by the Sea, where there will be a designated area where people can take clothes, financial or even canned food donations.
There will also be some special guests who will help educate and help spread the word to stop GBV.

Following the recent flooding in KZN, the bike club community in Durban wanted to help out people in any possible way.
So by creating this event, they decided to join forces to support those who are in need as well as educating people to put a stop to GBV.

"We all come from different races, backgrounds and all walks of life, but we want to come together and help wherever we can for the community of KZN," says Pravesh.
