Lion attempts attack on two-year-old at the zoo

A fun day at the zoo nearly ended in tragedy for this little boy.

Little boy lion attack

Zoo incidents seem to be prevalent lately. A week ago, a little boy crept into a gorilla's cage which resulted in the gorilla being shot. This time, a two-year-old boy was targeted by a lion in a zoo and was saved by glass.

A lion attempted an attack on this little boy at a zoo in China, but was stopped by the thick glass that separates him from the rest of the world.

The king of the jungle slammed into the glass, shocking the day lights out of the little boy who stood close to the glass.

"Lions are natural wild predators and the child in this video, especially when turning his back to the massive feline, becomes prey in the animal's eyes. But luckily for the family, if the barrier had not held the consequences could have been catastrophic", said Lion expert Adam Roberts.

The Zookeepers insist that the lion was not being aggressive and occasionally will go towards children to play.

That pounce looked nothing like a game to us. Take a look:
