WATCH: What you really look like when you try to catch a mouse...
While there are numerous commercial mouse traps available on the market, why not channel your inner inventor and create your own ingenious mouse traps using materials you probably have lying around the house?
According to a YouTube clip that has been making the rounds, a person has made a mousetrap out of plastic and cardboard.
Check it out below:
Now, we shall explore some brilliant life hacks for crafting mousetraps using nothing more than plastic and cardboard.
The Bottle Launcher Trap
For this DIY mouse trap, all you need is an empty plastic bottle, a wooden skewer or dowel, and some bait. Start by cutting a small entry hole near the bottom of the bottle, large enough for the mouse to enter.
WATCH: We aren't the only ones who the monkeys play around with...
Place a tempting treat like cheese or peanut butter at the end of the skewer. When the mouse goes for the bait, the bottle will tip, launching the critter inside and trapping it.
The Cardboard Box Maze Trap
This trap is perfect for those who want to keep their furry intruders occupied while they await capture. Grab a cardboard box and cut several small holes on the sides.

Place a tempting snack inside the box to entice the mouse. As the mouse navigates through the maze-like holes, it will be unable to find its way out. Once the mouse is inside, you can safely relocate it away from your living space.
