KZN shares some moving tips with Keri Miller
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
It's happening again! Keri Miller is moving this week and she hasn't started packing yet. So we asked KZN to help her with some moving tips.
Listen to the audio or read the details below:
Thanks to KZN, it looks like Keri's move is going to be less stressful than anticipated.
One of the tips she learned was not to take her clothes off the hanger, but rather to put five to eight hangers together and tie with a rubber band. Use a bin bag upside down and make a small hole to put the head of the hangers through and take it like that to your new home.
Here are some moving tips that East Coast Radio Listeners shared:
1. Use the tape, don’t be stingy with it. You will regret this later. (Jolene
Naidoo)
2. When moving boxes, have them labeled to each room and move them the same
time into the right room. Don't mix things from different rooms into one box.
(Jolene Naidoo)
3. Order food, you never want to be cooking. Buy water and keep as well.
(Jolene Naidoo)
4. Keep keys and important documents, preferably in your car until you ready
to put them in a safe place. People are going to be in and out helping you.
It's safer to do so. (Jolene Naidoo)
5. When moving drawers, place the contents of the drawer in a plastic bag and
put it back in the drawer. (Mark)
6. Wrap all your glassware in bubble wrap and place them firmly in a box.
Don't overload, but make sure the items fit snug. (Antonio)
7. Make sure your Refrigerator/Freezer/Washing Machine/Dishwasher is drained
and dried properly before you move it. (Chevonne)
8. When transporting glassware, fill a box with newspaper scraps and spread
them evenly - If dishes are packed too snug, they will break. (Aiden)
9. Remember that it is a lot cheaper to move between the 5th and the 27th of
the month. This might vary between moving companies - But that's a general rule
of thumb. (Barry)
10.Host a "Pack 'N Party" - Invite friends to have snacks and drinks
play games while packing or unpacking. (Pauline Sithole)
11.Have an open house auction - Sell everything and start over at your new
house. (Wayne)
12.Unpack as soon as possible and stay organized! (Michaela)
