KZN authorities still trying to locate missing lion in Ezemvelo
The lion that escaped a KZN game reserve is still out on the streets.
It's not a time to panic but it's however a time to be a little concerned for the people living around the Ezemvelo area.
There have been reports of a lion that escaped the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve.
According to EWN, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife reported that they have not been able to find the wild animal.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife spokesperson Musa Mntambo said that they have been working with other officials to locate the missing animals, as it's not the only animal that has gone missing.
The reports coming out of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve is that two rhinos have gone missing as well.
The one rhino was caught by the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife authorities.

As for the second rhino, it was shot at by a community member, but still hasn't been seen since.
The animal was in a confused state, charged at a homestead, and a 45-year-old woman became the victim of the rhino's charge.
The result left the woman in hospital, while six homes were destroyed.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife wishes to advise the public planning to visit Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park not to use the Cengeni Gate due to a community protest. The Cengeni gate has been closed until further notice. The public is advised to use the Memorial Gate or the Nyalazi gate.

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife spokesperson Musa Mntambo says that the lion that is still out there was spotted on Sunday morning.
The wildlife officials went out to try and locate it. However, as it stands they came back short of luck as the animal is still out there.

While people have every right to be scared, others are questioning the safety and security of the game reserve itself.
The game reserve’s fence has been damaged for some time now, according to locals who would visit the area.
This damage caused the escape, which has also prompted protests in the area, forcing the park to close its Cengeni gate.
Musa says the issue had been discussed with the community members previously and a process of repairing the fence is well underway.
