Keri's Wellness Wednesday: Four tricks to be more comfortable during pregnancy
Updated | By Keri Miller
"I have been ‘pregnant’ for a whole 24 hours and it's been a shocking experience thus far. It is only fair that I dedicate today’s Wellness Wednesday to those uncomfortable, swollen, hormonal, weird food-craving moms-to-be out there," - Keri Miller.
When you're an expectant mom, your body goes through changes you cannot avoid, sometimes making you feel irritated and uncomfortable. Here are four hacks that can make the journey a little more comfy.
1. The Hot Bra
It's surprising how hot and sweaty your breasts can get when you're incubating a whole person, and Durban doesn’t make it any easier… or less sweaty. All you need to do is put your bra into the fridge!
Aaaaah... sweet relief.
2. A banana for the cramps
Apparently calf cramps are a common symptom of pregnancy, and eating a banana is an excellent cure for the awful cramps.
If you are only comfortable lying on your belly, but obviously you CAN’T, just get a blow up pool tube, pop it on the floor and enjoy your mummy tummy time.
4. No more open zips!
I've been struggling to keep the zip on my jeans up ever since I became 'pregnant' and I found just the right hack to solve that problem - all you need is two hair elastics and voila.
Let me know if any of these tricks have been helpful? You can e-mail me some of your hacks that could help me cope with pregnancy and being a mom to a newborn baby to [email protected].
