Keri's Wellness Wednesday: Broken glass hacks (No Broom!)
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast
It is getting to that time of the year where year-end functions, team
building, and summer parties are happening. Parties mean fun - but sometimes the fun gets a little wild... and 'wild' often ends in broken
glass.
Unless you're willing to only serve drinks in plastic cups, there is a good chance you will spend the next while finding glass shards in all sorts of places, especially after hosting a party, or accidentally breaking a glass at home.
Today, our Wellness Wednesday will get you glass-free in no time.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- broken glass
- potato OR bread OR tape OR newspaper OR paper-towel OR cotton-wool
The first thing you should do is carefully pick up all the larger pieces of broken glass that you can actually see.
Then, try one of these methods to pick up the tiny little pieces that are hard to see:
1. Potato - Grab a raw potato (or any other larger root veg), cut it in half, then press the cut halves into the glass. Voila.
2. Slice of bread - Glass pieces will stick right into a soft slice of bread, plus it has a nice, wide surface area to cover a lot of ground.
3. Tape - Tape will pick those little glass pieces right up. Use the thickest, widest tape you can find to avoid cutting yourself — packing/duct tape works really well.
4. Damp paper towel - Fold a paper towel a few times, then dampen before pressing into the glass shards. Make sure it's folded thick enough that the pieces won't go through the paper.

5. Cotton Wool - Wet some cotton wool and use it to pick up tiny pieces of glass, no problem. This is specifically good for tiny shards of glass that may be hiding between tiles or wooden floorboards.
