Candice King, Keira's mother, is so proud that her daughter is able to share her passion with the world.
“Keira made the top 100 by writing an essay on sustainable packaging; top 50 with a video on how she will make a difference; and then to make top 5 she was interviewed,” Candice shares.
Keira departed to the Land of Penguins on the 6th of December 2023, as part of South African explorer Riaan Manser and Professor Jonathan Jansens’ Antarctic initiative.
The project aims to motivate graduating high school students to contemplate ways they can counteract the impacts of climate change and global warming within their communities.
Keira shares her awesome encounters and life-changing education on this trip.

This isn't the first time Keira has been on our airwaves.
Keira previously shared her story online about doing the 7.5km Robben Island swim for the Two Oceans Aquarium Education Foundation.
Keira's lifelong love for the ocean, swimming, and life-saving naturally led her to combine these passions in an effort to save sea creatures.
Her passionate advocacy reminds us that one person can make a profound impact, connecting us all in the preservation of our oceans and its inhabitants.
