Updated | By Darren, Keri and Sky
We all have a Karen from Facebook - And if you don’t have a Karen from Facebook, you probably are Karen from Facebook. In a time where whether you believe in fake news or not can make the difference between life and death, it’s better to identify a Facebook Karen so you know what to ignore.
If you have come across the Karen meme on social media (chances are you have) then you probably understand how or when it should be used.
But if you are still confused - according to the website knowyourmeme.com - Karen is a slang term that is generally characterised as an irritating, entitled woman, sometimes as an ex-wife who took custody of the kids.
"In 2020, the term was broadly applied to a swath of white women who had been filmed harassing people of color, including dialing the emergency services on them for no criminal reason," the definition on the site reads.
