Josephs has a point, Wits do lack hunger
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has publicly slammed his teammates for their lack of passion - and I think he is right.
Benedict, Sky and Darren discuss Moeneeb Josephs' amazing rant, KZN Derby, Sadio Mane's red card, Jose Mourinho calling Mark Hughes stupid and Frank De Boer getting fired by Crystal Palace. Listen to the podcast and read more on the blog below.
Since the start of the season, Wits have not won a match in regulation time, losing three times to Cape Town City in the process.
Wits have the best squad on paper, and if their players had desire, hunger and passion, they would win almost every single game in the domestic league.
Maybe winning the league and MTN8 double last season has led to complacency? Maybe the players think they have reached the promised land and there's nothing more to aim for?
A squad teeming with such talent really shouldn't be losing this much. The defending champions also signed the likes of Steven Pienaar, Daylon Claasen, and Gamal Amr at the start of the season, but the results have been poor.
The sooner they let go of that complacency or arrogance the better.
