The new political party is named uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK). This means “spear of the nation”, which is the same name as the former armed wing of the ANC. The wing was formed by President Nelson Mandela in 1961.
This name has been quite the controversy in South Africa.
On Friday, ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula said the party would be pursuing legal action against those behind the name of the newly formed political party.- EWN
