Acceptable? Carmen shares her burger on a plane story...
“Shock, horror, and utter disbelief!”
When in transit on a plane, the experience can often be hit or miss. Situations can often turn sour very quickly… and so can the smells!
After Carmen Reddy headed to Joburg for the Soweto Derby, she decided to eat an entire burger while she was in the middle seat. Her fellow comrades on either side were not impressed.
This begs the question: Is it acceptable to chow some food on a plane, especially when you’re snug between passengers?

I was on a flight from Durban to Cape Town recently. There were about 20 passengers from the same family occupying different seats on the plane. About 40 minutes into the flight, they started passing around containers with samoosas, sausage rolls, sandwiches, and other food items. I thought that it was hilarious. With that said, eating a burger pales in comparison to exchanging Tupperware containers mid-flight.- Anesh Maipath
