Indie pop act December Streets drop new track for all who've lost
Updated | By Nokuthula Ngcobo
The six-member band, originally from Pretoria, have been on the music scene for over ten years. Their new track, 'Last Forever', premieres today on Darren, Keri, and Sky - and one sixth of the band had a chat with Darren about the inspiration behind the song.
Tris, Dane, Matt, Neil, Tim, and Waldo, better known as December Streets, boast many hits under their belt.
Tracks such as Wild Heart, Summer Time Vibe and Haters are certified December Streets classics and the talented band members have put it on record that their new song, 'Last Forever', is their best yet!
"The song is a personal journey of loss and heartbreak in friendship... the more I chatted to people about this idea of loss during lockdown, it was super relevant. So many people have either lost their jobs or lost their sense of freedom - more directly lost friends or lost partners through this new world that we live in," Tris explains.

Although the song sounds very upbeat, the message in the song is very hardcore. Tris further shares that he also lost someone dear to him partly because of COVID-19, which was also the main inspiration behind penning the lyrics of the song.
