It’s official! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are engaged and her engagement ring has the sweetest significance to Harry, which goes back to his first visit to Africa.

Prince Harry proposed to Meghan with a custom three-stone diamond ring with a meaningful message behind it - two of the stones are from his late mother Princess Diana‘s personal collection, while the other stone is from Botswana.

Harry's first visit to Botswana was in 1997, straight after his mum died, and ever since he's considered it his second home.

"My dad told my brother and me we were going to Africa to get away from it all," reported onairwithryan.iheart.com.

Watch the touching video below of Harry talking about the ring and his fiancée:

The couple will tie the knot in Spring 2018 and will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace!
