Hot Seat with Olympics bronze medalist Henri Schoeman

Hot Seat with Olympic bronze medalist Henri Schoeman

Out of nowhere a 24-year-old Durban-born triathlete by the name of Henri Schoeman shocked the world by getting a bronze medal in the men's triathlon.

Henri Schoeman
Before the Rio Olympics 2016 , the medals hopes of Team South Africa lied on the shoulders of the likes of Chad Le Clos , Cameron van der Burgh, Caster Semenya and Wayde Van Niekerk who didn't disappoint.

Then Henri Schoeman shocked the world!

I say shocked because Richard Murray also of the team was amongst the favorites for the race and he was beaten by Schoeman someone no one knew anything about.

Henri had medaled at world cups and at the Commonwealth games but had never had a big result on a major stage and what good timing to make your mark on the world stage by getting an Olympic medal.

Behind the Henri Schoeman story, he didn't just won bronze against all odds but nearly didn't make onto the start line because he was terribly sick before the event.

He has become an Icon in the sport and believes he can go one better in Tokyo 2020 and win gold.

We had to bring the man of the moment onto the much-feared hot seat and I must say he handle it well.

Take a listen .
