Hilton vs Westville had it all – big tackles, great tries, and a Jack Russell stealing the show, turning the rugby field into his own playground, dodging tackles like a pro.
This past weekend, Hilton College and Westville Boys High went head-to-head in a heated schoolboy rugby match. It was a clash of youthful energy, school pride, and some seriously impressive footwork.
Westville took the win with a solid 23–15 victory, but that’s not why we’re here.
The real MVP of the match was Max, a fearless Jack Russell who decided rugby needed a little more bark and a lot more chaos.
With the confidence of a seasoned winger and the agility of a seasoned fly-half, Max stormed the field, bringing the entire 1st XV game to a screeching halt for a full five minutes.
Players from both teams tried to corral the tiny invader, but Max wasn’t having it. He ducked, he dodged, he sidestepped. It was as if he’d been secretly training for this moment his whole life.
The video of Max’s impromptu try-out quickly went viral on TikTok, with fans demanding he be signed up and given his own jersey.

Honestly, with those moves, he might just be Westville’s next star player.
Hilton should consider themselves lucky, because if Max had stayed on the field any longer, he might’ve scored a try or two himself.
