HILARIOUS! Dozens of men named Josh called to battle “to determine The One True Josh”

A year in the making, the “Josh Fight” took place recently in Nebraska where a young victor emerged victorious.

Josh Swain

In April last year, a few weeks into the global lockdown as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Josh Swain, who hails from Arizona, set up a Facebook chat where he added as many other Josh Swains as possible into the chat.

In an hilarious message to the others sharing his name, Josh tells them: "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here today,” before sharing details of a massive ‘Josh Fight’ he had planned.

"Precisely, 4/24/2021, 12:00pm, meet at these coordinates (40.82232286 -96.7982002) we fight,” Josh continued. "Whoever wins gets to keep the name, everyone else has to change their name. You have a year to prepare, good luck."

Josh admits that he forgot about the chat until a screenshot resurfaced on social media. As interest grew, Josh changed the coordinates he made up at random and opened the battle up to anyone named Josh, not specifically Josh Swain.

The event eventually kicked off at Air Park Green on April 24 and saw hundreds of men named Josh battle it out with pool noodles and wearing hilarious costumes including Spider-Man, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca.

In a bid to do good, Josh Swain encouraged visitors and the many Joshes to bring food and drink donations for the local food bank.

Eventually, four-year-old Josh Vinson, Jr., dubbed "Little Josh", won the battle and was crowned with a Burger King paper crown and a belt.

(The age mentioned in the tweet was later corrected.)

"People are awesome. All these grown ass adults showed up to just screw around and they noticed there was a kid there so they decided to give a kid the best day of his little life,” one Josh commented shortly after the battle.

After the successful fight, one Facebook user named Matthew Fox has already proposed a 'Battle of the Matts' in 2022. "I was thinking MATT BATTLE on 6/9/21 (or 6/9/22 due to COVID). Meet up with nerf guns or larping gear at Alton Baker Park in Eugene Oregon,” he said. “Winner is crowned Lord of the Matt's and takes home a (trophee). There seems to be interest, I may actually organize this for any variation of 'Matt'."
