Highlight Moments for DKS - Sky's expecting a little one soon!

We had the shortest of weeks nevertheless it was packed with so much joy and excitement - Sky and Clarise are expecting a third wheel in February 2022. 

The suspense of all the social media posts teasing to our big reveal on Wednesday morning had people throwing forward their own assumptions. Some anticipated another marriage from either Sky or Keri, a child was on people's minds but whose? 

Wednesday morning arrived and this voice announced 'the biggest announcement on East Coats Radio this year':

Darren and Keri's reactions were priceless as they digested the fact that Sky - the little baby of the show - was blessed with the biggest responsibility in the entire world of being someone's parent. 

When we went to The Sharks' stadium the following day for the #HandsOfHope Telethon in collaboration with our Sharks Rugby boys, thousands of congratulations poured for the dad-to-be. Thursday saw us broadcast live from the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium for a  meaningful event as we raised money for all the local businesses that are currently in dire straits following the KZN unrest. 

Sharks Rugby CEO, Dr Eduard Coetzee and East Coast Radio Managing Director, Boni Mchunu shared how the conception of the event took place:

Phones going off with our ECR presenters and Sharks players on the other side to answer them, great food courtesy of Pepper and Pans and breathtaking performances by The Kickstands, Tanner Wareham and The Kearsney College Choir.
