He's only 11 and he won a car by playing Chinese pool

Taufeeq Murray from Cape Town, Mitchell's Plain has been hailed as the 'pool prince'.

His proud dad, took to Facebook to share his son's achievement as well as thanking all those who were involved in his success. The little pool prodigy is being handsomely rewarded for the passion he has for the game.

He recently started to focus on Chinese pool, and it has certainly been paying off. After his stellar performance in a recent competition, he was rewarded with a brand new car.


Chinese pool, which is also known as Chinese eight-ball, is a hybrid of the three main cue sports disciplines which are snooker, English pool, and American pool. With its fast-paced, exciting and aggressive playing style, Chinese eight-ball continues to grow globally, with 32 overseas divisions in 54 countries across six continents.


Many users took to social media to comment on the dad's post saying that Taufeeq is truly a humble kid. Hailing from the impoverished community within Mitchell's Plain on the notorious Cape flats, Taufeeq's achievements are all the more special.
