It’s almost time for the much anticipated Comrades Marathon!
In 60 days, the rubber meets the road for Comrades runners, in their quest to conquer the 97th Comrades Marathon, an Up Run from Durban to Pietermaritzburg

The Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has confirmed that the following road closures and alert notification which will be effective over Comrades race weekend, starting around 16h00 on Saturday 8th until 18h30 on Sunday, 9th June 2024.
Runners staying outside the Durban metro are advised to leave earlier than usual as they make their way o the start at the Durban City Hall, perhaps an hour earlier than they would normally do, as the ongoing roadworks and increased volume of traffic will definitely lead to congestion and a longer travelling time.- Ann Ashworth

As you can see the roads will be very busy during the biggest human race. It’s a day for us to show our support for athletes from all around the world.
Here are some alternative routes that have been suggested as spectator points:
Hillcrest, the Alverstone area (at the intersection of the R103 and Alverstone Road), Drummond, the Hammarsdale area (at the intersection of the R103 and Thousand Hills Drive), Camperdown, Lynnfield Park and Ashburton are all designated sections for spectators.
