The national energy regulator says a high court has approved its request for more time to consider Eskom's revenue application for a 32% tariff hike. They were initially expected to give us an indication on the cost increase by Christmas Eve. It says a decision on Eskom's application for the 2023/2024 financial year will now be made by the 12th of January.

Police on the East Rand have arrested a suspect who assaulted a police officer in a confrontation about public drinking. The incident was recorded and is circulating on social media, it's weird to see the police being assaulted like this without doing anything to protect themselves.
