The City of Cape Town announced that it will pay cash as an incentive to businesses that feed their excess power into the grid, laying the basis for further future loadshedding reductions. The same will be extended to households generating their own energy later this year.

Justin Bieber has sold his share of the rights to his music to Hipgnosis Songs Capital for a reported $200-million. That means no royalties at all for his music going forward.

Joburg Super Kings’s left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso has been suspended from bowling in the Betway SA20. His bowling was found to be illegal by the competition’s Independent Bowling Action Panel on Tuesday.

Billionaire Bill Gates has announced an investment in Australian start-up Rumin8, which is developing a seaweed-based feed to reduce the methane emissions cows produce through their burps and, to a lesser extent, farts.

South Africa's Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB), which bans specific ads or sanctions advertisers who overstep, now has a specific section to deal with crypto assets. It says those selling Bitcoin and its fellow crypto tokens have to be very clear and unambiguous about the risk of losing money.
