On Monday, the City confirmed that eThekwini will be re-added to the load shedding schedule following a reprieve as Durban recovered from the recent heavy rains in April and May.

Geranium in Copenhagen has been named the best restaurant on the planet at the World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards. This win is their second in a row. Geranium serves a meat-free, seasonally-based Scandi menu in the unusual environs of the eighth floor of Denmark's national soccer stadium.

Armand Duplantis broke his own pole vault world record as the World Championships over the weekend. Duplantis had already secured the world title with his first-time jump of over 6 meters after his rivals failed to make it over 5.94m.

An India-based jewellery company broke a Guinness World Record for the most diamonds set in one ring with a whopping 24,679. The ring is mushroom-shaped and it's ugly (in our opinion).

The president of the Moscow Chess Federation, Sergey Lazarev, confirmed that a chess-playing robot broke a boy's finger during a match in Russia last week. The incident occurred at the Moscow Chess Open after the boy rushed the robot. He said: "A robot broke a child's finger -- this is, of course, bad."
