Struggling power utility Eskom has announced that it will continue implementing Stage 6 loadshedding on Monday afternoon, with varying stages of loadshedding being implemented during the course of the week.

The eThekwini Municipality said it encouraged residents to report all infrastructure that needed to be repaired, and it would be attended to as soon as possible. Municipal spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela discouraged residents from repairing infrastructure themselves, as this could pose a danger to other residents and properties.

Convicted Paralympian Oscar Pistorius met the family of his late girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp for a victim-offender dialogue (VOD) last month. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison. He has now been transferred back to the Atteridgeville Correctional Centre to continue serving his sentence, as participating in the VOD does not equate to an end of the sentence or parole placement.

'Friends' creator Marta Kauffman told the Los Angeles Times that she’s so “embarrassed” by and feels such “guilt” over the lack of diversity on her classic NBC sitcom that she’s donating $4-million to create the Marta F. Kauffman '78 Professorship in African and African American Studies' at Brandeis University.
