KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala was among the residents forced to evacuate their homes in La Mercy, North of Durban, during the weekend floods that caused damage throughout the city. Zikalala, who lives in the small coastal community, said he was working with others in the area to evacuate people and restore road access.

Durbanites can breathe a sigh of relief, as clear skies are expected for the rest of the week. According to South African Weather Service (SAWS), north-eastern parts of KZN can expect isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers.

Manchester City has apologized after Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen was said to have been "assaulted" following City's title-winning victory on Sunday. After the club secured its fourth Premier League crown in five years, home supporters at the Etihad Stadium spilled onto the pitch in celebration.
