Summer mornings are the best to wake up to, especially when there's a beautiful smell creeping into your bedroom door or that special festive cheer that fills up your kitchen.
If you're having guests over, or you want to impress your in-laws, a new partner or the whole family, try these five breakfast recipes and you'll be everyone's favourite person!
1. Eggnog breakfast bread pudding
This eggnog breakfast is perfect for Christmas morning, it's equally tasty at room temperature or straight from the oven, so it will satisfy both the early risers and late sleepers in your crowd.
You will need:
- 1 (12 ounces) loaf French bread, sliced
- 4 ounces unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 cups eggnog
- 2 cups whole or 2% milk
- 5 large eggs
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup sugar
- Pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons bourbon (or 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract)

2. Blueberry and vanilla pancakes
This simple recipe will go down a treat to everyone, and with the blueberry twist, everyone will be asking for more.

What you need:
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups White Wings self-raising flour
- 1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 25g butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, extra
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries

3. Baked chai-spiced french toast
If you're looking for a warm, delicious breakfast to warm you up this Christmas, this french toast recipe with a twist is ideal for gloomy, rainy mornings

You'll need:
For the Chai Spice Mixture:
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
For the French Toast:
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cup 2% or whole milk
1/3 to 1/2 cup granulated sugar (use less if serving with maple syrup)
1/2 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon Chai Spice Mixture
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
9 to 10 cups day-old challah bread, chopped into cubes
For the Topping:
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon Chai Spice Mixture
Pinch salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and chopped into small pieces

- 3 eating apples peeled, quartered, cored and diced
- 200g cranberry (fresh or frozen)
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- 5 tbsp caster or granulated sugar
- 200g porridge oat
- 1l whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
