America, Ireland, Thailand and the UK. Music lovers there have all had the pleasure of watching a live performance by KZN-born musician David Jenkins.
David, who recently returned from the Bear Grylls Survival Race Festival in London, popped in to say hi to the East Coast Breakfast team the other day.
Also known as Qadasi, meaning ‘white person’ in isiZulu, David told the team that he's looking forward to working on his new album and hopes to hear it on the radio one day. He says one of the challenges of being a Maskandi musician is that the popular Zulu folk music isn't pop enough for this generation.
David finally settled the ongoing debate between Darren and Natarah and taught our Breakfast host how to correctly pronounce the word Amanzimtoti. Nats was thrilled, she'd been saying it right this whole time!
David also gave the team an exclusive unplugged performance. You've got to listen to his rendition of Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud! It's a Maskandi masterpiece!
