Durban school gears up for an epic showdown against the world's finest

St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Kloof is set for a high-pitched battle against some of the globe’s top choirs at the World Choir Games.
The city of Durban is abuzz with excitement as St. Mary's Diocesan School for Girls in Kloof, a prestigious educational institution, prepares to embark on an extraordinary journey.
The school, known for its commitment to academic excellence, is set to face off against some of the globe's best schools in a thrilling clash of singing, skill, and talent at this year's World Choir Games.

The tournament is an 11-day competition scheduled for 3-13 July in Gangneung, Republic of Korea.
According to IOL, the tournament will be the ultimate test of singing for the ladies from Kloof.
As anticipation fills the air, students, teachers, and the entire community eagerly await this momentous event that promises to leave an indelible mark on St. Mary's legacy.
Lindy van der Meulen, who is St Mary’s DSG Kloof’s head of music and choir conductor, was ecstatic and extremely honoured for her girls to be participating in this global competition.
"It's a huge honour to represent the continent internationally and this will bring the vibrancy of Africa," says Lindy.

This would be the school’s third World Choir Games after previously appearing in the 2014 and 2018 editions.
The school choir consists of 40 girls and five staff members.
This upcoming clash against the world's finest schools is an unparalleled opportunity for St. Mary's students to test their mettle, broaden their horizons, and once again showcase their abilities on a global platform.
