Durban Metro Police have been put under the spotlight due to cruel behaviour against the homeless.
Locals have been vocal at what has happened in Durban this week.
The Durban Metro Police have been allegedly forcing homeless people to dump their blankets in an awaiting rubbish bin.
This was in line with the clean up operation for the Umbilo.

Considering that this week has been filled with warnings about rough weather starting on Friday, it comes as a shock that the Metro Police would be doing something like this.
According to reports, the police appeared to have been conducting an operation to try to get groups of people who were sleeping outside businesses to clear the area - Gale Street, in particular.
According to Shani Naidoo, who runs a Non-Government Organisation, the police should have known better.
While it was widely known that the country’s economy needed a turnaround and businesses needed all the help they could get, throwing away the blankets of homeless people before the start of winter was inhumane- Shani Naidoo
Spokesperson for the Metro Police, Parboo Sewpersad, has denied all allegations.
The spokesperson said that the image was blown out of proportion. They are saying that the picture was manipulated to make sure that the police looked responsible for such cruelty.
