The South African Reserve Bank joined Breakfast with Darren Maule on Tuesday morning to showcase the upgraded Mandela banknotes and coins.
On 3 May 2023, the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) unveiled its much-anticipated upgraded Mandela banknotes and fourth decimal coin series, marking a significant milestone in the country's monetary history.

So Darren and Sky got a hold of Mahlatse Mahlase from The South African Reserve Bank as well as Pearl Kgalegi who is the Head of Currency at The South African Reserve Bank got to be in the studio.
Pearl was talking to the Breakfast team about how the new money has features that even left many people in SA asking questions.
