Do you believe the host of a braai should provide everything?
Updated | By East Coast Breakfast / Lilitha Bodlani
An age old question...
September is a month when we not only celebrate our Heritage, but also the act of coming together as one for a good old braai.
In the world of outdoor cooking and social gatherings, few things are as deeply ingrained in South African culture as a braai.

Darren Maule and Sky Tshabalala love hosting braais, so Carmen Reddy asked the guys a very important question - should the host be responsible for providing everything at a braai?
The question rumbled through their brains for a while and we asked listeners on-air and online to weigh in, too.
On Facebook, the team asked the question, what are your thoughts on a 'Bring and Braai'?

Samantha Nundlall said: "I have now adopted the bring and braai option. The cost of living is too high to fully cater for a braai, snacks, drinks etc. I also feel it's more about a social gathering than just the food."
Another comment on Facebook from Brett Lategan revealed: "Bring and braai - I'll cook your food for you at my house but if there's chicken you more than welcome to take the tongs click them twice and cook your own food 🤣 reason being it takes so long and I also want too socialise with my mates."
The Breakfast team brought the conversation on-air and the responses Darren, Sky, and Carmen received were very interesting. If you have your thoughts on this topic, send a WhatsApp to us on 072 257 5041.
The Breakfast team also had an opportunity to speak with the legend of all braai's and the man who apparently is the chief architect of Braai day that is also celebrated on the same day as Heritage day, Jan Braai.
