A new year brings with it new job opportunities... but you have to be ready to grab the chance.
As the start of the year brings with it many new opportunities, some people are looking forward to either starting or advancing their careers.

Well, we're here to give you some much needed advice, as well as some tools, to help better your chances of landing that job you've been desperately seeking.
Darren, Keri, and Sky heard the cries of KwaZulu-Natal and have come up with three ways to help improve your chances of landing that job!
Review your CV
A candidate has to align the content of their CV with a specific organisation or job vacancy that they're really interested in.
Present your skills and strengths to correspond with the job requirements listed in the advert.

Most importantly, make sure that your contact details are correct.
Prepare for the interview
According to Joseph Makaringe, who is the Anglo American HR advisor at Kumba Iron Ore, interviews are one of the most important stages of the recruitment process.

This is the ideal opportunity for the candidate and the representatives of the hiring organisation to engage with each other.
This is in regard to the organisational culture, the vacancy’s roles and responsibilities, etc.
Know how to identify scams
You must know how to differentiate between legitimate vacancies and scams.

Poorly written job specifications, the lack of corporate contact details, and the use of personal emails such as Gmail and Yahoo are all signs of potential scams.
When searching for job opportunities, make sure you use well-established recruitment platforms or at the very least visit corporate websites to view available vacancies.
If it seems too good to be true, it usually is...
