Durban mother loses son at the hands of SA's poor healthcare system
Updated | By Darren, Keri and Sky
"He was on a mattress, soaked in his own urine, on the floor and naked except for a diaper."
Vanessa Mayhew nominated her friend and former domestic helper, Ningi, after the loss of her son.
It is sadly another case of South Africa's healthcare system not doing enough or anything at all to help those in dire need of their services.

Josh, 21, had a stroke earlier last year out of the blue.
Mayhew caught up with Ningi after the ordeal only to find out it was getting worse for them.

It has sadly been a traumatic and hard time for Ningi, especially with not having a clear picture as to what caused the death of her son.
The Big Favour, Hirsch's, Defy, and some of your donations could never bring back Josh, but it will hopefully go some way to helping Ningi on her journey to recovery and healing.
This is how we share our warmth, love, and thoughts with Ningi and her family:

We are hoping that justice is served and she finds closure in terms of knowing what truly was the cause of his death and health deterioration.
