Spring means sunshine, but sunshine can mean sunburn, and that could lead to skin cancer. That's why before we get ahead of ourselves, we need to get our skin screened for any form of cancer.
Just because your skin may be a few shades darker than others, doesn't mean that you are not at risk of getting skin cancer.
To close off Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and to introduce a new sunny season, The Skin Cancer Foundation South Africa (SCFSA) is implementing a National Skin Cancer Screening Day, where South Africans can be screened for skin cancer free-of-charge.
The initial priority of the recently founded SCFSA is to establish a comprehensive skin cancer prevention strategy for the people of South Africa. This programme will focus on skin cancer awareness, education, prevention, and treatment.
The screenings are free and available for today only.
